My colleagues at The City of Calgary are watching water levels on the Elbow River very closely. (http://newsroom.calgary.ca/calgarians-advised-to-use-caution-as-elbow-river-water-levels-rise/)

There is a risk of some limited overland flooding. We are reducing water levels from the reservoir in a very controlled way to prepare for higher expected flows in the Elbow. That means the water on the Elbow is flowing quite fast and high, so please keep a safe distance from the riverbanks and pathways right next to the water. If you are driving, please be careful of any pooling at intersections and underpasses.
Of course, it’s always good to be prepared for any flooding. This includes directing any downspouts away from your home. Click here for more: http://www.calgary.ca/UEP/Water/Pages/Flood-Info/Prepare-for-flooding/What-you-can-do-to-prepare.aspx
Stay safe and dry out there, folks.
